Allison and Javier
Several months ago I had photographed Allison and Javier’s wedding and realized almost immediately that I clicked with them very well. Allison just has this beautiful, welcoming spirit that makes you feel like you’ve known her for years, so I wasn’t surprised at all when I showed up and immediately felt as though I was greeted by a friend. She and her bridal party were just so relaxed and comfortable and that was really the overflowing theme of the day, down to her adorable and comfy Toms that she sported down the aisle.
One of the most emotional moments for me was meeting Jessica, one of Allison’s bridesmaids. She’s one of those woman who is absolutely gorgeous on the outside, but even more beautiful on the inside. She revealed to me that she and her husband were in the Boston marathon bombing and both lost their legs. We talked about her recovery and how grateful she is for her life and to be able to be alongside her best friend on her wedding day. We shared laughter and tears and it was a moment I will never forget.
Another moment that brought tears to me eyes (Yes I spent much of this wedding with my face hid firmly behind my camera), was when Allison walked down the aisle to Javier. Neither of them could hold back their tears, and it was just such a beautiful thing to witness. I am so glad to have been a part of something so magnificent. It was truly an honor.
